Thanks to the great number of you who agreed to assist in contributing data to CARN based research. By providing links between the members of CARN; the researchers, aquarists, industry such as, coral growers, suppliers, hobbyists and any other aquaria-linked industries with research students, equipment, resources, equipment, expertise and knowledge, we within the CARN network can work together to focus on the research questions combined with industrial applications required to improve coral survival and sustainability within the trade. By drawing together information from aquaculture, transportation, husbandry, growth and mortality, diversity, water chemistry and technology in closed systems; we can work towards improving health, longevity and sustainability in captivity.

We are now moving into CARN Phase II and we want you to be part of one of the world’s biggest research programs linking reef research and aquaria industries. Data from your system could be used within long-term research studies, added to global data sets and may even be published in scientific journals. There is such a wealth of information amongst you all, we want to make sure that your help is acknowledged. In return for supplying data, we will add your name to a rapidly increasing global database that will be available on the website, show your location on a global map and acknowledge you at national and international conferences where our data is presented. You may even get listed as an author on scientific publications!

We have chosen five areas of research that our projects are focusing on, just click any of them to give us some very quick details;

Since its launch in 2009, CARN has gone from strength to strength. Collaborations and exciting, innovative new projects are constantly being launched combining the knowledge, expertise and skills of so many. Every day CARN is getting more and more interest from those within research, industry, media etc. increasing the awareness even more and further driving to need to improve sustainability within the trade, but we still want to do more! Be part of something that can really make a difference, see how much of the globe we can impact.
